Amanda L. uses Wet & Forget to Restore Hand-Carved Headstones
Amanda L., a resident of Indiana, discovered Wet & Forget Outdoor through her sister-in-law. The product was recommended to her when Amanda mentioned the deteriorating condition of the hand-carved headstones made by her Great-Grandfather, Frank G.
Frank (photoed below), born in Vermont in 1872 to French-Canadian parents who immigrated to the US, had a nomadic lifestyle due to his work as a stonemason. He traveled to various regions of the country to ply his trade.
Frank G. was a skilled stone carver who meticulously crafted several headstones, including the one for his wife. Soon after getting married, they moved to Murphy, NC, where Frank entered the monument business.
His wife passed away in 1934 from tuberculosis at the age of 60. Frank carved her the calli lilli stone using Indiana limestone. He and his son transported the stone in a flatbed truck to her home in Murphy, NC, to set it up.
In addition to his wife’s stone, Frank also carved the other two marble headstones featured in the photo.
Over time, the hand-carved headstones became dirty and required a safe and effective cleaning solution. Amanda was determined to restore their beauty and discovered Wet & Forget as the ultimate solution.
Amanda successfully tackled the challenge of moss, mold, mildew, and algae stains on the stones. She employed an effective solution by thoroughly saturating the gravestones with Wet & Forget, repeating the process every three months, which yielded great results.

Amanda opted for the Wet and Forget Concentrate to clean the tombstones. The gallon concentrate will cover of up to 2,250 sq. ft.
One gallon of the Wet & Forget Concentrate will make 6 gallons total. All you need to do is mix 1 part Wet & Forget with 5 parts water in a pump sprayer. After that, apply the mixture to your exterior surfaces and let Mother Nature do the rest.
