Bath Safety Month: How to Clean a Tub with Wet & Forget Shower

By Wet & Forget

January marks national bath safety month, and it’s a great time to reevaluate how you clean your tub.

According to Real Simple magazine, Amazon reviewers gave Wet & Forget Shower a five-star rating and called our no-scrub bath cleaner “an amazing time-saver” and “the best bath cleaner ever.” We agree! Here’s how to clean your tub and bath with Wet & Forget Shower.

What happens if I allow soap scum to build up?

The longer soap scum sits on bath surfaces, the more challenging it is to remove. Soap scum will turn from white to grey and attract mold, mildew, and algae. Eventually, soap scum will emit an unpleasant smell. Plus, soap scum contains dirt, germs, body oils, and other unidentified ‘nasties’. Yuck!

How do mold and mildew affect bath surfaces?

The moist environment of a bath makes it a prime target for mold and mildew to develop. Over time, these growths can invade and damage bath surfaces, including tubs, tiles, grout, caulk, and fiberglass.

In addition, exposure to indoor mold has been linked to health problems, including:

  • Respiratory infection
  • Allergic reactions
  • Inhalation of toxic mold spores
  • Asthma
  • Persistent coughing and wheezing

Will a bath cleaner that contains bleach harm bath surfaces?

It can. Bleach-based bath cleaners shouldn’t be left on surfaces overnight as bleach can damage bath surfaces.

In addition, bleach-based bath cleaners often have a strong chemical odor. You may need to leave a window or door open to avoid breathing in harsh smells while you clean.

Wet & Forget Shower does not contain bleach and cleans most bathroom surfaces including:

  • Non-slip tubs
  • Rubber bath mats
  • Safety bars
  • Sinks
  • Countertops
  • Shower doors
  • Tile
  • Fiberglass
  • Vinyl
  • Acrylic
  • Chrome
  • Cultured Marble
  • Glass
  • Porcelain
  • Granite

Note: Do not use Wet & Forget Shower on natural marble.
